Rescue is one of the most difficult, frustrating and rewarding functions of the BSDRT. Many thanks to the countless people over the years who have stepped forward any way possible to assist Belgian Sheepdogs in need. The entire rescue organization continues to work toward lessening the work load burden by involving many people to help with the large amount of work involved in rescue. Please help today. Please contact any Regional Coordinator to volunteer.
Below is a current list of some of the positions open and a brief description of responsibilities.
Application Processor – Do you like talking with new and interesting people who are interested in our chosen breed? Try this one on for size.
Dog Locator – Surf the web for potential Belgian Sheepdogs in need of rescue and notify BSDRT. The more volunteers, the merrier!
Publicist – Spread the word about how wonderful rescued BSDs are & publicize events that BSDRT participates in.
Transport Coordinator – Network with other wonderful Belgian people to help arrange transport for rescued dogs – from one area to another.
Regional Coordinator – The Northeast and Heartland are still open and waiting for someone to claim them!
State Coordinator – Only a few states are currently covered – join their ranks!
Foster Care – Take a rescued BSD into your home and give it a new lease on life. WARNING – this is the most rewarding and bittersweet position of all.
Home Check – Potential homes for a rescued BSD need to be seen in person. Take your clipboard and see how other people live;-)
Fundraising – Take the lead on raising funds to ensure that BSDRT always has the funds to pay for expenses, especially as Veterinary expenses continue to increase. Wheeling and dealing skills are a plus! Arrange our next raffle!
